Golden Chick | Our Story
The gold standard of flavor since 1967
Golden Chick started in Central Texas with a simple conviction: fried chicken done right is worth building a legacy around. More than five decades later, that conviction still drives every restaurant we open.
A Texas beginning
In 1967, a fried chicken concept took root in Central Texas — not as a trend, but as a better way to do things. That local favorite grew steadily, earning loyal regulars who kept coming back because the food was simply good.
The Original Golden Tenders
Original Golden Tenders are the dish that defines Golden Chick — made from the whole chicken tenderloin, marinated, hand-battered, and cooked to golden perfection. They're the original, and as far as we're concerned, still the best.
From Golden Fried Chicken to Golden Chick
In 1993, the brand transitioned from Golden Fried Chicken to Golden Chick, with new stores carrying the Golden Chick name by 1996. The name changed; the commitment to great chicken did not.
Growth with Texas roots
From a single Texas concept, Golden Chick has grown into a multi-state franchise while staying true to its chicken-forward identity. The roots are still there in every location — and in every order of tenders.
